Jada Pinkett Smith dismissed marriage label in 2019 when asked about Will Smith

Will Smith’s relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith was put under the spotlight when the actor struck Chris Rock in the face during the 2022 Oscars ceremony.

The latest rumors say that the pair will split, with sources claiming that their relationship is irreparable.

What is known is that the couple has a unique marriage, and Jada stated her feelings on the partnership in 2018.

She was speaking to Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha Curry, on her show ‘Red Table Talk’ when she outlined her marriage to Will Smith.

“Did you know that it’s been 21 years [since I got married]?” Jada said.

“We don’t really call it marriage anymore, we call it partnership.

“We are life partners, we are in a different stage of our relationship.”

“I know that unions go through many stages.”
