Statement: Alabamaworks.alabama.gov, the state’s online jobs database, has been temporarily taken down

The vendor that runs Alabamaworks.alabama.gov, the state’s online jobs database, experienced a service outage that affected its network operations, so the website has been temporarily taken down.

The third-party vendor, Geographic Solutions Inc., alerted the Alabama Department of Labor and the Alabama Department of Commerce to a cyberattack on its servers.

Both Alabama agencies have now received assurances from GSI that no customer data has been compromised.

Alabama’s unemployment compensation system is unaffected by the shutdown.

There is no impact on payments, certifications for each week, or claims.

Around three dozen states have been impacted nationwide by this problem, and it’s possible that the AlabamaWorks! website will remain down for a few more days.

The Departments of Labor and Commerce are still in contact with GSI and will give updates on the timeline as they become available.

Employers or job seekers who require Career Center services should contact or visit their local Career Center for assistance in the interim. Anyone who had a Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) appointment should make plans to show up on time. If you previously missed a RESEA appointment and need to reschedule, please get in touch with your local Career Center.
