St. John’s defeats New Hampshire for its 10th victory of the season

Saturday night at Carnesecca Arena, St. John’s defeated New Hampshire 64-51 thanks to 20 points from David Jones.

Jones contributed 12 boards, 4 steals, and 3 blocks for the Red Storm (10-1). Joel Soriano accumulated 14 points and 14 rebounds. AJ Storr scored 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting, including 3-for-4 from long range.

Matt Herasme scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the scoring for the Wildcats (3-6). New Hampshire’s Clarence O. Daniels II contributed 11 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals. Ridvan Tutic ended with a total of 10 points and 7 rebounds.

David Jones contributed 20 points to the Red Storm’s cause.

Jones led the way with nine points as St. John’s held a narrow three-point advantage at the break. St. John’s outscored New Hampshire by 10 points in the second half, with Jones scoring 11 points to lead the way.
