The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department identified the victims killed downtown as Joseph Dalton, Floridema Gabriel Perez, and her two-year-old son, Anthony Elmer Mendez. The tornado tossed a mobile home onto Perez´s residence, resulting in tragic fatalities.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts expressed condolences, declaring a state of emergency in Clarksville. First responders urged residents to stay at home while they evaluated the situation.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee offered prayers for those affected, emphasizing the need to follow guidance from local and state officials.

Residents like Shanika Washington and Allie Phillips shared harrowing experiences, seeking shelter during the storm. Washington recounted a terrifying 20 minutes in a basement bathroom with her children, while Phillips anxiously watched a live stream, uncertain about her home’s fate.

Simultaneously, the Northeast prepares for a rare high wind storm, with gusts expected to reach 60mph.
