Shooting in a Melbourne home, two killed and one identified as Atem Atem

Police have launched a manhunt for the shooters after discovering that one of the two victims killed in the early morning shooting was a 29-year-old guy.

At 2.30 am on Saturday, 29-year-old Atem Atem was found dead in his Carmichael Drive home in Melbourne’s southwest suburb of Wyndham Vale.

In addition to the 23-year-old guy who was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, his father Deng stated the second man killed was a friend of his son.

During the incident, the family dog was also fatally shot.

Following the incident, three automobiles were observed driving away from the scene, and police immediately began a manhunt.

Losing someone is difficult, Mr. Atem told the Herald Sun.

According to Mr. Atem, he moved to Australia from South Sudan in 2003.

He claimed that he thought his kid had been followed home before he was shot, and that his son was scheduled to travel with his mother to his native country next month.

He said the mother and two brothers of his kid were present when the shooting, which is thought to have taken place in the garage, occurred.

Late on Saturday, Detective Inspector Chris Murray stated that the two males were killed after three automobiles approached the residence.

Two males were killed during a confrontation, he claimed.

According to Detective Inspector Murray, he thinks the perpetrators may have known one another and that the attack was not random.

He declared, “What I would say is that I don’t think this is random.”

“The people can feel comforted in the knowledge that we will see a significant police presence today and in the coming days,” I would say.

He asked locals who observed or captured on dash cam the odd behavior of the automobiles in the convoy to call the police.

Local resident Seema Nagpal claimed that she was praying in her living room when she heard a “sharp noise.”

The Herald Sun quoted Ms. Nagpal as saying, “There were many people, and they were shouting a lot.”

I turned on my exterior lights because I was afraid that someone may jump the fence.

Michael Rowe, a neighbor, reported hearing a car accelerate away.

After hearing a few individuals talking and a car rushing away, he claimed that was all he had heard until he later noticed flashing lights outside.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad have set up a crime scene and are looking into the fatal occurrence.

Anyone with additional knowledge is invited to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-333-TIPS.
