Sheepdog fights and kills eight coyotes who attacked his flock

According to farmer John Wierwille, a Georgia sheepdog is recuperating at home after killing a band of coyotes who attacked his owner’s flock of sheep.

Casper, a 20-month-old Decatur Great Pyrenees, beat off a band of coyotes that were attacking John Wierwiller’s sheep farm, according to him. Wierwiller told Atlanta’s WAGA-TV that the struggle lasted longer than thirty minutes, left eight coyotes dead, and left Casper injured, with skin and a portion of his tail pulled off.

He fled, but returned two days later with an injury in response to Wierwiller’s social media appeal.

“He was somewhat looking at me like, ‘Boss, stop staring at how horrible I look, just take care of me,’” Wierwiller recalled.

Wierwiller stated in a Facebook post that emergency veterinarians were able to seal Casper’s neck wound.

If all goes well, he will not require any skin grafts in that location. “This is fantastic because it is lot simpler to control infection when the incision is not so exposed. “This is very fantastic news, and we are rejoicing.”

The LifeLine Animal Project has raised almost $15,000 to cover the sheepdog’s medical expenses.

The latest on Casper – Some of you are aware that eight of the eleven coyotes who attacked our livestock were killed by one of our livestock dogs…

John Wierwille published the item on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Even though dogs seldom prevail like Casper, coyote attacks on pets have become rather regular in rural and expanding suburban regions that border wildlands in the United States.
