Sevilla Europa League game gets chaotic after fan ran onto the field and punched Sevilla’s goalkeeper in the face

During a Europa League match between PSV and Sevilla at Philips Stadium in Eindhoven, a fan ran onto the field and punched Sevilla’s goalkeeper, Marko Dmitrović, in the face, causing chaos on the field.

Dmitrović managed to stop the attacker and both teams and stadium security intervened. Dmitrović continued playing but was given a yellow card and let in a second goal in the 2-0 loss.

The incident has led to concerns over the rise of unruly fans in soccer, and UEFA is likely to punish PSV for the fan’s action. This incident follows a similar attack on Colombian soccer star Daniel Catano last week.

Marko Dmitrovic wrestles a fan to the ground after being punched on Feb. 23.

Sevilla and PSV players attempt to get Dmitrovic off a fan who attacked the Sevilla goalkeeper.
