A year’s driving privileges have been revoked for the proprietor of a vegan cosmetics company who was discovered operating her Audi while more than three times above the legal drug limit.
Following a tip-off that she was a “frequent user of cannabis,” Sadie Rudd, 31, of Bewsey and Whitecross, Warrington, was stopped by police in her blue A3 in April.
She later confessed to the officer that she had used the substance within the previous few days.
The mother-of-two was chastised by judges at Warrington magistrates court in Cheshire for driving her small children about after “taking that trash.”
She was given a £120 fine, a 12-month driving suspension, and orders to pay $119 in costs and victim surcharge.
Rudd operates Scent From Above out of her home, a perfume and scents company that sells vegan soap, bath bombs, lotions, and wax melts.
Although she had previously admitted to driving under the influence, she claimed that a ban would make it difficult for her to drive her children to elementary school.
Rudd responded that all she had to say was that she was the mother of two dependent kids.
They attend a school on the other side of town, so I could drive them there and back.

Georgia Leyland, the prosecutor, claimed that around 2.30 pm on Tuesday, April 19, a police officer was on uniformed patrol in a fully marked police car when his focus was caught by a blue Audi A3 being driven by Rudd.
The female was a known regular cannabis user, and the police had information to that effect, according to Miss Leyland. She was also thought to be under the effects of cannabis.
He consequently brought the car to a stop. She identified herself as the driver and acknowledged using marijuana recently.
Miss Leyland reported that Rudd was detained for a blood test after a roadside drug wipe proved positive for cannabis.
She is a lady of high reputation and has no prior offences.
According to toxicology findings, Rudd had seven times the legal limit of 2 micrograms of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per litre of blood. The main psychoactive component of cannabis is THC.
Chairman of the bench Andrew Brothers stated, “We have taken into consideration your prompt guilty plea.
We know what you have stated, that you have children attending school elsewhere.
But you must understand that when you are transporting that garbage, you are doing so while driving with your kids in the backseat. You should definitely quit.
They will suffer now, too, because you have been given a 12-month driving prohibition, not just you.
“You need to keep in mind that you have lost your good character at this point.”
