Rylan Clark and Scott Mills will co-host BBC Radio 2’s coverage of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest final.

This will be the first time that Ken Bruce will not be covering the event since 1988, following his move to Greatest Hits Radio earlier this year.

The coverage will take place in Liverpool after the UK was chosen to host the competition on behalf of Ukraine.

Eurovision superfans Clark and Mills will bring “insightful and colourful commentary” to the event, while Paddy O’Connell will host the two semi-finals, which will be broadcast for the first time on Radio 2.

Head of BBC Radio 2 Helen Thomas said that the semi-finals would provide “all the drama and fun”, with O’Connell being the “perfect guide” for fans and newcomers to the show.

Clark expressed his excitement at co-hosting the Grand Final with Mills, describing Eurovision as his “favourite time of the year” and saying he was “absolutely buzzing” to bring listeners closer to the action.

Mills also expressed his excitement, calling presenting from the grand final in Liverpool the “ultimate childhood dream come true”.

The coverage will be the culmination of a week-long stay in the city for the two presenters, who will also provide television commentary for the semi-finals.

The semi-finals will take place on May 9 and May 11, with the grand final on May 13 at the Liverpool Arena.

British Eurovision star Sam Ryder and 2022 winners Kalush Orchestra will perform alongside competing acts during the grand final, which will be broadcast live on the BBC.

The event will be hosted by singer and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham, Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina and comedian and talk show host Graham Norton, a returning favourite.
