Russia’s Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy will conduct surprise combat readiness check exercises, including simulated air strikes on enemy ships in the Pacific Ocean.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed President Putin of the exercises, stating that the final stage of the fleet’s surprise combat readiness check will commence on April 18.

Strategic rocket aircraft will be deployed to simulate attacks on naval groups of a mock enemy in the central part of the Pacific Ocean.

After the completion of the inspection, the Pacific Fleet’s forces will return to their bases.

During a recent meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, President Putin emphasized that the Russian Navy is prepared to carry out tasks in any direction.

The Kremlin spokesman clarified Putin’s remarks about the use of the Russian Navy, stating that the region has seen conflict situations in recent years.

The surprise combat readiness check of the Pacific Fleet was announced by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on April 14.

The goal of the check is to build up the fleet’s capabilities to repel the aggression of a potential enemy.

The test will include missile launches and the involvement of long-range aviation.
