Russian troops refuse to fight

A group of mobilised troops in Russia have refused to fight and instead claim they are being sent to their deaths.

Reservists allege that their officers openly refer to them as ‘meat’, and state that their comrades are committing suicide rather than fighting.

Video footage shows troops from Kaliningrad questioning the purpose of Putin’s war, with some saying, “we are sent to certain death.”

They state that they would not refuse to fight to defend Russian territory, but they would refuse to assault Ukrainian villages.

The reservists claim that a ‘whole company’ of their comrades had died in a week and that men are killing themselves rather than go to the frontline.

Troops from Irkutsk also made video footage saying that they were being sent to “slaughter.”

They state that they were sent to assault fortified districts without the support of artillery and heavy guns.

Others from Siberia also threatened to mutiny, stating that they were forced to assault villages without training, communications, or maps.

Fighters from another group made a video appeal to Putin, saying that “people are dying, and this is all that is left of my platoon from the entire company.”

There are reports of men being thrown into improvised jails for refusing to fight.

The reservists claim that their complaints were like a ‘bone in the throat’ of the Russian war effort.

Multiple video appeals to Putin, including from wives and mothers in Kaliningrad, to return their men safely have all been ignored.

A Russian source has suggested that the number of mobilised men refusing to fight is rapidly growing.

Russia’s tactic of sending wave after wave of underequipped and undertrained men to die on the frontlines has proved somewhat successful in the battle for the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut in Donetsk.

However, the attrition rate is harrowing, with reports suggesting hundreds of soldiers on both sides are dying each day, and Moscow is incurring horrendous losses as their troops are deployed to soak up Ukrainian bullets.
