Russian soldiers allegedly surrendering to Ukrainian forces on the battlefield of Luhansk

This is the moment that a group of Russian soldiers were supposedly seized by Ukrainian forces on the Luhansk battlefield.

The video was shot during the fierce combat in the country’s eastern region, as the city of Sievierodonetsk is heavily bombarded.

According to a news report, the tape claims to show 14 captured Russian troops sitting and tied up, as Russia continues to send in more troops to battle for Eastern Ukraine.

Serhiy Gaidai, the governor of Luhansk, had stated that Vladimir Putin was bringing in more troops in order to conquer Sievierodonetsk.

‘Today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, they will throw in all of their reserves, because there are so many of them already there, they’ve reached critical mass,’ he claimed.

Armed forces in Ukraine revealed today that they had suffered a setback on the outskirts of Sievierodonetsk, and they demanded greater military assistance.

Ukrainian MP Ivanna Klympush-Tsintzadze told Sky News that unless more weaponry arrived, the country was losing land and risking loss in its eastern struggle.

She went on to say that Russia had a ten-to-one military advantage over Ukraine.

Defense officials said today that four months of severe fighting in Ukraine appear to be eroding troop morale on both sides, spurring desertions and defiance of officers’ orders, while NATO’s chief warned the war may stretch on for “years.”

In its daily assessment of the war, Britain’s defense ministry said, ‘Action units from both sides are committed to intensive combat in the Donbas and are likely experiencing varied morale.’

‘Ukrainian forces are likely to have experienced desertions in recent weeks,’ according to the assessment, but ‘Russian morale is extremely likely to remain particularly affected.’

‘Cases of entire Russian units defying commands and armed stand-offs between officers and their troops continue to occur,’ according to the report.

According to a report by the Institute for the Study of War, the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate disclosed intercepted phone calls in which Russian soldiers complained about frontline conditions, insufficient equipment, and a general lack of manpower.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview published on Sunday in the German monthly Bild am Sonntag that “nobody knows” how long the war will endure. ‘We have to be ready for it to endure years,’ he said.

He also asked partners not to “weaken support for Ukraine, even if the costs are considerable, not just in terms of military help, but also in terms of rising energy and food prices.”

Gazprom, the Russian gas supplier, has cut supply to two key European customers, Germany and Italy, in recent days. Energy officials in Italy are due to meet this week to discuss the situation.

Italy should make it through the winter with more gas obtained from other sources, according to the director of Italian energy giant ENI, but he warned Italians that’restrictions’ on gas use may be necessary.
