A mine in Russia that is supposedly controlled by a UK company connected to Roman Abramovich has apparently developed a massive 100-foot-wide “Gate to Hell” sinkhole.

The massive collapse occurred in the Sheregesh mine in the Kemerovo area of Siberia, close to a well-known ski resort.

Four houses’ worth of residents had already been evacuated from the area out of concern for a collapse. No casualties are believed to have occurred.

The event took place at an iron ore mine that was ultimately controlled by a British-incorporated business connected to billionaire former Chelsea FC player Roman Abramovich.

A huge sinkhole that has developed near to a road and habitations is shown in aerial video.

A second video, shot from the ground up, shows vehicles driving past after the building had collapsed.

A single home, which is very close to being engulfed by the implosion, illustrates the size of the enormous crater.

The earth’s surface sinking inside the bounds of the Sheregesh mine’s mining allotment was foreseeable, according to a representative for the Tashtagol district.

Before the collapse, “[Residents of] homes No. 14, 16, 18 and 20 on Pervomayskaya Street were relocated.”

The mine’s operations have been put on hold.

The steelmaking behemoth EVRAZ, which the UK sanctioned in March for its role in the conflict in Ukraine, is the owner of the Sheregeshsky mine in the Kuzbass industrial district.

According to reports, Abramovich, who was penalized by Britain for Putin’s invasion, had a 28.64 percent share in the company.

60% of Russia’s coal and 14% of its steel and rolled goods are produced in the area.

According to sources, the residences on the property were mostly vacation homes.

Future repairs will be made by Evraz and the district administration.

The collapse happened soon after the firm said it was investing significantly in the mine.

One of the most well-known ski resorts in Russia is Sheregesh, nicknamed Gesh to the locals.

With a six-month ski season, it is said to offer some of the greatest snow conditions in the world.

It holds the Guinness World Record for the largest bathing suit ski race in the history of the sport for its yearly spring bikini skiing competition.

The resort also hosts festivities including shamanic dances and a celebration of Russian pancakes on the slopes.

Snowfall in certain areas may reach four meters in depth.
