A popular laxative has been recalled over fears it has not been properly labelled and could potentially be dangerous to children and pregnant women
ComforCleanse has been recalled by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and Therapeutic Goods Administration.

The product from Young Living Essential Oils is marketed as a “highly potent herbal formula that supports normal digestive and colon function.”

A popular laxative was recalled out of concern that it was not properly labeled and could pose a risk to youngsters and pregnant women.

However, according to the investigation, the packaging lacked the “mandatory language for the required label warnings” for the ingredient fennel, also known by its scientific name Foeniculum vulgate.

All items having a use-by date of March 29, 2023 or bottles with the identifying number ‘Lot 15500101’ should be returned to Young Living for a refund, according to the notice.

In their online store, the product is now marked as “not available for purchase.”

The TGA further claims that Young Living will contact customers in their database with recall information and that the products have been isolated and relabeled at the warehouse.

The Young Living Essential Oils product claims to be a 'high-powered herbal formula that supports normal digestive and colon function'

Young Living is a multi-marketing marketing organization founded in Utah, United States, that is well-known for selling essential oils and alternative medicines.

Customers can purchase their products via their web store, but the company is most known for their “Brand Partner” program.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to its US branch in July 2022 after discovering brand partners making drug claims with their essential oils.

The product from Young Living Essential Oils is marketed as a “powerful herbal formula that supports normal digestive and colon function.”

Some Young Living members asserted that the Lemon Essential Oil was “as effective as stone-breaking chanca piedra pills for kidney stones” and that frankincense essential oil could aid in the treatment of arthritis and asthma.

In response to the FDA Warning Letter, Young Living stated that partners who made such remarks violated their “policies and procedures.”

Young Living takes FDA complaints extremely seriously, and in the event of a complaint, our Conduct Success team follows a three-step enforcement process with Brand Partners, consisting of education, warning, and account termination if proper warnings are not followed to.
