Rebel Wilson shares miscarriage pain before daughter Royce’s birth

Rebel Wilson talked about how heartbreaking it was to lose her first child through surrogacy last year, months before she had her second child, Royce.

The “Pitch Perfect” actress said “the embryo miscarried” when asked if she had lost a baby during her first attempt at surrogacy.

The Aussie star went public with her relationship with Ramona Agruma in June 2022, but she had already been using a surrogate to have a child when she and Ramona met.

Wilson said on “The Pick Up with Britt, Laura, and Mitch”: “I had only been dating Ramona for two months when I had to tell her, “By the way, the surrogate looks like it’s out of the first trimester and it’s serious. I’m going to have a baby by the end of the year.”

Wilson talked about how she chose a sperm donor for her child. She said she was shown pictures of possible donors as well.

At the “sperm shop,” the donors answered a series of questions on voice recordings, which Wilson admits were interesting to listen to.

“I had something like a sperm concierge. They looked through all the sperm shops and gave me the 10 best ones that met my needs,” she said.

Wilson tried again, even though it broke his heart to lose the child. In November, he finally got a baby girl through surrogacy.

Wilson said when she told people about the birth of her daughter Royce that she had always wanted to have her own family.

“Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, who was born last week via surrogate,” she wrote at the time. “I can’t even describe how much I love her; she’s a beautiful miracle.”

Wilson said she will be “forever grateful” to everyone who helped her become a mother, and she praised her “gorgeous surrogate who carried [Royce] and gave birth to her with such grace and care.”

Just a few days ago, she said that her girlfriend Ramona Agruma’s family hasn’t been very “accepting” of the relationship between her and Ramona.

The 42-year-old said, “My whole family has been just great.” “Ramona’s family hasn’t accepted her as much. So, in many ways, making the news public has been a lot harder for her.”

“It’s much harder for her because she’s not in the public eye. What happened to her family because of it is so sad. Wilson told Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne that he hoped people would change the way they thought about things.
