Randi Weingarten, head of a teachers union, faced backlash for a badly written tweet attacking Governor DeSantis

Randi Weingarten, the leader of the American Federation of Teachers, attacked Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a tweet filled with grammatical errors.

Weingarten accused DeSantis, a potential 2024 presidential candidate, of “banning everything he dislikes” and failing to address the cost of living issues in Florida.

Weingarten’s tweet received criticism on social media, with DeSantis’ deputy press secretary suggesting that she should focus on why parents are leaving New York for Florida. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, a former lieutenant governor of Florida, also criticized Weingarten’s spelling and grammar mistakes.

Actor Dean Cain made a sarcastic comment about Weingarten’s tendency to comment on everything, while critics described her recent speech on the student loan crisis in front of the Supreme Court as a “meltdown.”

During her speech, Weingarten emphasized the unfairness of corporations and student loan lenders challenging student debt relief efforts, and she punctuated her remarks with wild body movements and pointing gestures.
