After getting off a bus in a small town and being struck by a Hyundai, a schoolboy is in critical condition.

On Wednesday afternoon in Canina, Queensland, close to Gympie, Levi Hanna, 14, got off the bus at Tin Can Bay Rd before being hit while crossing the street.

After the terrible collision, the Hyundai i30’s 27-year-old female driver was said to be “distraught.”

The youngster was airlifted in critical condition with a severe head injury to Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

Before emergency personnel came, bystanders rushed to aid the youngster after the crash.

As he was receiving care, his nearby-residing parents hurried to the scene.

According to Sergeant Peter Bailey of 7News, the driver who struck him was unharmed in the incident.

She is quite upset, he said.

“We’ve given help to her and anybody else who has been impacted by this occurrence,” the statement reads.
