QAnon influenced Michigan man who killed his wife, kids, and dog

A woman is coming out because she thinks the QAnon conspiracy theory pushed her father over the line, causing him to shoot his wife and dog to death and her sister to suffer injuries.

Rebecca Lanis, 21, gained notoriety over the weekend for a post she made on the QAnon Casualties Reddit thread, where users describe relatives they believe QAnon has “ruined.”

She said that following the 2020 election, her father, 53-year-old Igor Lanis, joined Q and entertained conspiracies involving both that election and the COVID vaccination to “keep us safe and healthy,” as she put it.

Igor fatally shot his wife, Tina, and the family dog on Sunday after months of what Rebeca described as his mental state deteriorating. He did this in the wee hours of the morning. Rachel, Rebecca’s 25-year-old sister, was also gravely hurt by him.

According to a Facebook post, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office arrived, and when Lanis fired at them, they returned fire and killed him.

According to the sheriff’s office, they got at the residence about 4:16 a.m. They heard a gunshot near the village of Walled Lake, which is approximately 30 miles from Detroit, and started to get closer.

Igor Lanis was then spotted firing a shotgun at the cops as he exited the front door.

The man was killed after a sheriff’s deputy and a police officer exchanged gunfire.

When Rebecca was trying to escape, they saw her crawling toward the front entrance. Eventually carried her to safety, according to the authorities.

According to Rachel Lanis, her father shot her mother. After being transported to a nearby hospital, her status was changed from critical to stable.

Officers entered the home and found Tina, 56, the mother of the girls, as well as Lanis’ wife. She had numerous gunshot wounds to her back, and according to the police, it seemed that she had also tried to crawl to the door.

The household dog had also received numerous gunshot wounds and died.

On the subreddit, Rachel Lanis posted: “I’m surprised and I don’t even know what to say.” No thanks, QAnon. I’m hoping the FBI clamps down on you and that your lackeys spend eternity in jail for poisoning so many people.

According to Lanis, who worked as a vehicle designer and had no prior history of violence, her father had been “very affectionate” until he was exposed to far-right leaders like Alex Jones.

He had a sense of realism, she continued. But once Trump lost the presidential election in 2020, he began plunging down these absurd rabbit holes. It had a significant role in what occurred.

When it came to 5G cellular towers, vaccinations, the belief that the election was rigged, and the concept that certain global leaders were “alien-lizard people in disguise,” Lanis claimed her father would urge the family view videos.

The daughter said that while the family tried to entice him back, it was “pointless.”

When she thought about what happened to her father, she said that “it might happen to anyone.”

In the past, deadly shootings have been connected to QAnon. Another man of Q from Michigan entered a not-guilty plea in January after confessing to murdering his recentlywed wife, whom he thought was a CIA agent and President Joe Biden’s transgender daughter who was engaged in sex trafficking.

Troy Burke, 45, was detained in January 2021 on open murder and weapons charges in connection with the shooting death of Jessica Burke, 29, his wife of just three months.

Matthew Taylor Coleman, 40, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder of Americans abroad in September. According to the law, the charges constitute capital offences, the attorney’s office said in a press statement.

According to court records, he was charged with the ‘heinous, terrible, and evil’ act of murdering shooting both of his children with a spear gun.

The shooting of Lanis is still being looked into by the local and county police.
