Producer of The Flash says production will continue

The Flash’s producer has made an effort to allay fans’ concerns that Warner Bros. may cancel the planned DC movie next, following the studio’s cancellation of the $90 million dud Batgirl.

The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, is slated for release in 2023, although many have assumed that it will similarly be postponed due to Warner Bros.’ apparent ambiguity.

Barbara Muschietti, the film’s producer, reportedly remarked that “All is okay in Flash land” despite the fact that it is only “anticipated” to hit theaters next June, according to The Flash Film News on Twitter.

Muschietti referred to the idea that The Flash does not yet have a set release date as “total b******t” in a conversation with the fan page that compiles details about the impending movie.

“All is okay in Flash world,” producer Barbara Muschietti wants to reassure fans amid the latest DCEU shakeup, they wrote in their message.

When contacted by DailyMail.com about whether The Flash is still anticipated to enter theaters in 2019, Warner Bros declined to comment.

According to The Flash Film News on Twitter, the movie's producer said in an Instagram message that 'All is good in Flash land.' It comes after the star of The Flash Ezra Miller was arrested multiple timesAccording to Rolling Stone, Warner Bros is in a tough spot because the movie’s lead, Miller, has been detained numerous times and has developed unpredictable behavior.

Miller was detained twice earlier this year after they allegedly assaulted and spit on someone in Hawaii. Miller is non binary and uses the pronouns they and them.

The movie is reportedly on schedule to be released in 2019, but Warner Bros has put a hold on any Miller-related projects in the future.

Miller is “just not a part of those ideas going forward in the future universe regardless of whether there are more charges or not,” according to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

David Betancourt, a comic book expert for the Washington Post, says that given the ambiguity and Miller’s previous activities, “one must wonder whether we’ll ever see Michael Keaton’s bat-comeback at all.”

Fans are still dubious that the movie will ultimately hit theaters next year despite Muschietti’s assurances.

“The idea that they’re shelving Batgirl but still intend to make that The Flash movie and praying somehow no one has read a single Ezra Miller story online for the previous two years,” said entertainment journalist Lacy Baugher Milas, “is…a choice.”

Sure, she said we’d get a trailer two months ago, responded one admirer. We still have nothing. I have no idea if it will be canceled.

‘Like I’ve been saying… don’t ask producers or directors,’ a another supporter chimed in. No idea exists for them. If you don’t tell them, they’ll insist that nothing is wrong.

‘Bet that’s what Batgirl’s team thought 2 days ago likewise,’ a fourth individual said online.

This comes after Batgirl star Leslie Grace posted behind-the-scenes images and production video after Warner Bros executives canceled the $90 million movie and spoke out for the first time.

Following Wednesday’s criticism of the abrupt cancellation from the directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the actress wrote on Instagram that she was happy of the film that industry insiders had labeled “terrible” after test screenings.

“Wishing family! I am proud of the love, dedication, and intention that our wonderful cast and hardworking team put into this picture over the course of seven months in Scotland, Grace wrote in response to the recent news about our movie “Batgirl.”

'I am proud of the love, hard work and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over seven months in Scotland,' Grace wrote

‘I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process! To every Batgirl fan – THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, ‘my own damn hero!”’

Grace, who was slated to play Batgirl in the major role, released photos and videos of the production as she stood by the movie, including some of her wearing the Batgirl costume and of the cast and crew having a good time.

Grace is seen standing in one of the pictures wearing the purple superhero outfit—complete with a black cloak, long red hair, and the Batgirl cowl covering her face—and a black cape.

Another image shows Grace lounging inside a tent while sporting blood and bruising makeup. Over the ensemble, the actress wore a big jacket and a winter hat.

Grace also shared what appears to be a photo from the movie set of her and another actor sprinting close to a big fire, along with a photograph of herself without her mask, bleeding, and battered.

Grace’s defense of the film came just hours after the directors expressed their shock that it had been scrapped and expressed their desire for Batgirl to be presented to fans all across the world.

But Arbi and Fallahsaid say that if God wills, “inshAllah,” it will be one day.

After a number of test screenings were poorly received by crowds, studio executives decided to scrap the movie, which was supposed to air on HBO Max later this year. They felt that the choice would harm the brand’s future as they work to streamline their operations.

El Arbi and Fallah, who also directed Bad Boys For Life and Disney+’s Ms Marvel, wrote in a statement on Instagram: ‘We are saddened and shocked by the news. We still can’t believe it.The Batgirl film has been 'canned' by Warner Bros. after spending more than $100m on the movie because studio executives want to move away from made-for-streaming projects

‘As directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves.

‘Maybe one day they will insha’Allah.’

The directors continued: ‘Our amazing cast and crew did a tremendous job and worked so hard to bring Batgirl to life. We are forever grateful to have been part of that team.

‘It was a dream to work with such fantastic actors like Michael Keaton, JK Simmons, Brendan Fraser, Jacob Scipio, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Front, and especially the great Leslie Grace, who portrayed Batgirl with so much passion, dedications and humanity.

‘In any case as huge fans of Batman since we were little kids, it was a privilege and an honor to have been a part of the DCEU even if it was for a brief moment. Batgirl For Life.’

Batgirl was first given the greenlight in 2021 as part of a company-wide effort to create feature films specifically for HBO Max.

It would have featured Grace in the titular role as she battled Brendan Fraser’s Firefly who turned to a life of crime after he is fired from his job, loses his health insurance and could no longer care for his sick wife.

Warner Bros spokesperson said on Tuesday: ‘The decision to not release Batgirl reflects our leadership’s strategic shift as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max.

‘Leslie Grace is an incredibly talented actor and this decision is not a reflection of her performance. We are incredibly grateful to the filmmakers of Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt and their respective casts and we hope to collaborate with everyone again in the near future.’
