Probably unexpected January transfers

On Tuesday, the January transfer window for the Premier League will end, and it is possible that some surprises could occur. All eyes will be on Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu to see if they can reach a deal for Makhehleni Makhaula’s services.

The 33-year-old midfielder has signed a pre-contract with the Buccaneers, and if no agreement is reached today, he won’t join the team until July 1.

Golden Arrows forward Pule Mmodi, who is in the final six months of his contract, remains a top target for the Pirates.

In other transfer news, SuperSport United are monitoring Pirates’ Terrence Dvzukamanja. Additionally, the Tshwane club has chosen to retain striker Thamsanqa Gabuza.

In the meanwhile, Swallows FC will register certain players following the lifting of FIFA’s transfer embargo. They are set to recruit two Tanzanian midfielders, Ally Msengi, formerly of Stellenbosch, and David Uromi, formerly of Al Hilal in Sudan, in addition to free agent Evans Rusike.

DStv Premiership log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns are interested in Cape Town City’s Khanyisa Mayo. Gift Motupa, Katlego Mohamme, Promise Mkhuma, and Keletso Makgalwa are available for loan from the Brazilians.

Stellenbosch are interested in midfielder Sabelo Radebe.

Thabo Mokoena and Keletso Sifama may also be loaned to Motsepe Foundation Championship Club, Uthongathi, by Amakhosi.

Ayanda Patosi, a former Bafana Bafana international, is returning after leaving Iranian team Foolads and has already been linked to his former club Cape Town City.
