A man has been charged with murdering Sydney crime leader Bilal Hamze in the Sydney Central Business District.


In June of last year, a man in a black Audi opened fire on Hamze on Bridge Street in the Sydney central business district.

The 34-year-old thug was treated at the scene before being sent to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he subsequently passed away.

Later, the Audi was discovered ablaze in Northwood, on Sydney’s North Shore.

Tuesday, investigators from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad Strike Force Englorie arrested and charged a 32-year-old man with murder at the Silverwater jail, according to police.

The man was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Police reported last week that Sydney underworld members had been registering stolen cars in the names of unwitting individuals before using them to commit terrible crimes.

Last year, North Sydney police investigating the murder of Bilal Hamze and a conspiracy to assassinate his brother Ibrahem Hamze recovered vehicles thought to have been used in both incidents.
