Prince Andrew may be forced into his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson’s £5million home

According to reports, Prince Andrew has purchased a multi-million pound mews property in the Belgravia area of London as an “investment property” for his children.

While the Prince is currently living at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, the new property requires high maintenance and he may face a £249,000 funding cut in April, which could force him to leave. However, an insider claims that the King will not leave his brother “homeless or penniless.”

The Royal Lodge, which used to belong to the Queen Mother, has been Andrew’s home since 2004. But as the monarch looks ahead to a “slimmed down” royal family, the crown’s purse strings are tightening. In a family meeting in December, a senior royal reportedly joked about “kicking Andrew out of the house.”

The downsizing may continue for Andrew, who has already sold his ski chalet in Switzerland to fund his mounting legal costs during the civil case brought against him by Virginia Giuffre. The case, in which Giuffre claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew on three occasions in 2001 when she was 17, was eventually settled for roughly £9.8 million. Andrew has denied the claims.

The Belgravia property is only a short distance from the former mansion of Andrew’s former friend and billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Fergie and Andrew’s former homes include Sunninghill in Berkshire, which was sold in 2007 to a Kazakh oligarch for £3 million more than the £12 million asking price.
