Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal Resumes Proceedings: Atiku Challenges Tinubu’s Victory

The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal reconvened on Monday to continue proceedings in the case filed by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 election.

Representation of Respondents and Witnesses

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), the first and third respondents respectively, were physically present in court.

The APC was represented by its Director of Legal Services, while INEC was represented by National Commissioner May Agbamuche.

Atiku has presented four witnesses thus far in the proceedings.

Atiku’s Plea to PDP Members

During a retreat organized for PDP lawmakers-elect in Bauchi state, Atiku Abubakar referred to the PDP as a “government-in-waiting.”

He urged party members not to lose hope while awaiting the resolution of the dispute at the presidential election petition tribunal.

Atiku warned against the temptation of leaving the party due to the temporary setback, assuring them that the truth would ultimately prevail.
