President Bola Tinubu revealed that during his campaign, he found inspiration in the spirit of ‘Emi Lokan’ (It’s my turn) which he invoked from the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

This revelation emerged during Tinubu’s visit to the Awujale’s palace in Ijebu-Ode.

He shared how the phrase became a significant motif for him and his supporters throughout the campaign period.

Reflecting on Challenges and Invoking the Spirit of Freedom

Tinubu reflected on the hardships faced during the election period, particularly the difficulties caused by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s cash swap policy.

He explained that these challenges compelled him to invoke the spirit of freedom, drawing inspiration from the South West state.

Tinubu expressed his appreciation for the courage and resilience of the people, stating that the spirit of ‘Emi Lokan’ represents the essence of their identity.

Warm Reception and Dignitaries Present

President Tinubu received a warm welcome from the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Adetona, along with other traditional rulers and chiefs.

The Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, was also present, alongside various dignitaries.

Tinubu was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Special Adviser Dele Alake.
