Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar has been appointed as the new Chief of Air Staff by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The announcement was made by the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Wille Bassey.
Abubakar succeeds Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, who was appointed by the previous President, Muhammadu Buhari, in 2021.
Profile of Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar:
Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, born on September 11, 1970, is from Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.
He joined the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) as a member of NDA Regular Course 39 and became a commissioned Pilot Officer on September 19, 1992.
Educational Background and Qualifications:
Abubakar holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.
He has also completed various training courses and obtained qualifications, including Abinitio and Basic Flying Training at the 301 Flying Training School in Kaduna, Basic and Advance Airborne Courses at the Nigerian Army Infantry Center and School in Jaji, and Company Amphibious Operations Course at the Nigerian Army Infantry Center and School in Calabar.
Additionally, he completed Junior and Senior Command and Staff Courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji and the National Defence Course at the Nasser Higher Military Academy in Cairo, Egypt.
He holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from ABU Zaria.
