Polish leadership intends to hold Russia accountable for cutting off gas supplies before the contract expires

The Polish government wants to make Russia responsible for interrupting gas shipments before the agreement expires.

According to the publication Wirtualna Polska, the Minister of State Assets, Jacek Sasin, said this.

He claims that the government has reached a settlement with the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) and will shortly send a bill to Gazprom.

The official emphasized that Warsaw must act alone in response to the termination of the Yamal contract during the Senate conference on “The Path to Energy Independence in Poland and the Region.”

In this regard, the Polish side will seek restitution for the losses sustained as a result of the supplier’s behavior from Russia.

Warsaw did not want to renew the deal, but by the end of the year, the gas had to be delivered to the republic, Sasin recalled.

The official further stated that due to the precautions taken in advance, the nation is fully supplied with gas.

Its own production, a port for batch deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG), and storage facilities have all been fully stocked.
