Police find cash, weapons, and drugs after recovering a stolen car from the children’s hospital

Friday, officers conducted a citywide stolen vehicle recovery operation. During the operation, officers uncovered a suspected stolen automobile. Officers began to examine this vehicle as the driver drove recklessly in an attempt to flee and eventually stopped in a Queen Anne parking lot. When the suspect put the vehicle in motion and attempted to drive through two patrol cars, uniformed officers arrived to investigate the vehicle.

The driver exited the automobile and attempted to flee on foot. Officers immediately and without incident detained the suspect.

During the investigation, it was found that this automobile was recently stolen from Seattle Children’s Hospital while a family waited for their child’s brain surgery recovery. In addition to the recovered vehicle, officers discovered two loaded weapons (one of which was stolen), methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, and $8,000 in cash.
