Police claim one dead at Migos rappers’ Houston party

At a private party in Houston that Migos rappers Takeoff and Quavo attended, one person was shot to death and two others were injured, according to authorities on Tuesday.

According to the Houston Police Department, the party, which was hosted in a pool hall on Halloween night, concluded in the small hours of Tuesday morning. Officers responded to the site of the incident at approximately 2 a.m. local time and discovered many shot casings on the third story of the structure, according to the police.

The police department’s homicide sergeant said during a press conference that when officers arrived, they discovered one individual dead, while two others who had been hurt were sent to neighboring hospitals for treatment. Police said that the injured people secured private transportation and provided confirmation that they were still alive and seeking treatment at the time.

According to Houston police, the person who was shot and killed has only been identified as a Black man in his late 20s. Police added that the victim’s name won’t be made public until after an autopsy has been performed or a medical examiner has confirmed his identity and his family has been notified.

Police have sought the public for assistance with their ongoing, preliminary investigation into the incident as they watch CCTV video from the Houston venue. The private party had between 40 and 50 attendees, according to Houston police.

Authorities claim to have been told that Quavo, 31, and Takeoff, 28, of the renowned hip-hop group Migos, were there at the party, but they were unable to determine if the musicians were directly engaged in the shooting.
