Petrol and fuel prices: What you’ll spend starting tonight at midnight

The Department of Energy announced the official gasoline and diesel price adjustments for January 2023 late last month, which is EXCELLENT news!

The price of 93 and 95 octane petrol will decrease by a stunning R2.06 per litre, while the price of 0.05% diesel will decrease by R2.69 per litre and the price of 0.005% diesel would decrease by R2.81.

The modifications will take effect at midnight on Tuesday, January 3.

If you can avoid filling up today or tomorrow, you should.

The price of gasoline has not been this low since February 2022, when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine caused a price rise.

BELOW ARE THE NEW PRICES FOR PETROL AND DIESEL:

Petrol 93 decreases by 206 cents per litre in price.
206 cents per litre decrease in the price of petrol 95
Diesel 0.05% reduction in 269 cents per litre
Diesel 0.005% reduction in 281 cents per litre
193 cents less per litre for illuminating paraffin (wholesale)
An increase of 82 cents per kilogram for LPGAS
