Peta Murgatroyd is pregnant!
The “Dancing With the Stars” pro, 36, and her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, announced on Friday that they are expecting a rainbow baby after many miscarriages and one round of IVF.
Murgatroyd captioned an Instagram photo of a baby bump: “We have a healthy bun in the oven.”
“It was a shock to everyone, and we found out just before my second round of IVF,” the expecting actress revealed. This news has brought our family enormous joy, and we have so much for which to be grateful.
Murgatroyd is expecting her second kid in June.
In January 2017, she and Chmerkovskiy, 42, had their son Shai, now 6 years old.
The dancer shared on Instagram her “pregnancy bliss.”
The dancers were open throughout the years about their desire to give their child a sibling, but they had difficulty conceiving a second child.
Murgatroyd disclosed in June 2022 that she lost her first pregnancy in a Whole Foods restroom in 2020.
“I was crying in the bathroom,” the Australian remembered to People. Being on the toilet by myself, knowing what was occurring, and being unable to stop it, was an experience that will likely be with me for the rest of my life.
Murgatroyd continued by describing two more miscarriages, saying that she felt “ashamed” and “embarrassed” at the time.
Chmerkovskiy was “extremely distressed” by the losses.
“I never imagined that two fit, healthy people could be in such a predicament,” he told the magazine. “There is much to process.”
In June 2022, the “Dancing With the Stars” professional attempted IVF.
However, the pair felt “hope and positivity” after consulting a fertility doctor.
Murgatroyd, who had been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, underwent an egg retrieval in the same month in order to initiate the IVF procedure.
In June 2022, she informed her Instagram followers, “We retrieved 40 eggs from 27 follicles.” “One nurse said it was the highest number she’d ever seen. Keep your fingers crossed that we’ll soon have a few little Chmerkovskiys!”
The choreographer was in the “final stages” of the procedure by July 2022.
Murgatroyd stated on “Entertainment Tonight” at the time, “Fingers crossed, there should be a pregnancy very soon.” This is the correct path for us.
A month later, she revealed in an emotional Instagram post that the procedure had failed.
