Passengers were left in tears after being stuck on a hot plane in Nice for 90 minutes; the pilot was forced to let them back onto the airbridge to cool down as several became ill.

This evening at 7:35 p.m., a British Airways aircraft from Nice to Heathrow was scheduled to take off, but weary passengers were forced to wait an additional hour and a half in the hot cabin without air conditioning.

‘It’s disgraceful. It is hotter than hell on this plane. British Airways is slowly killing us,’ one angry passenger told MailOnline.

‘Passengers are crying and on the verge of passing out.’

‘It’s truly disgusting that they have no air conditioning. British Airways is literally a joke.’

Two travellers became ill and were removed from the aircraft, as cabin crew and the pilot apologised to passengers for the situation.

‘They’re now handing out water and telling everyone to go to the jetty,’ the passenger added.

Since then, passengers have been told to exit and wait in the air bridge as they fan themselves to stay cool.

In a passenger’s video, some passengers flap their clothes to try to cool off, while others appear irritated by the situation.

Following that, passengers were left waiting in the tunnel for the status of their flight.

It is believed that the rotational delay on the inbound service caused the plane, which is already in the air, to miss its takeoff slot.

‘There are some heavy ATC restrictions in France this evening, which delayed them getting a new slot,’ a British Airways spokesperson said.
