Overgrown house with bathroom vines for sale for £750,000 with two-home approval

An unsettling overgrown home with vines encroaching into the bathroom has been put on the market for £750,000 with permission to destroy it and construct two new homes.

After being completed in 1934, the three-bedroom Overdale house in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, South Wales, was held by the same family for a long time until the son’s relocation caused it to become vacant for more than 20 years.

The house has become very overgrown, with vines seen crawling all over the outside of the property and even through the windows of a bathroom (pictured), leading to its eerie character

According to real estate brokers Hills Home Consultants, the property was purchased by new owners around a year and a half after it was put up for sale.

A classic MG sports vehicle was concealed in the standalone garage at the time of that sale.

The home has gotten very overgrown, with vines seen creeping all over the outside of the building and even through a bathroom window, giving it an uncanny appearance.

The home is now on the market for £750,000 but is really a block of land with permission to flatten it and turn it into two new residences.

The present house will be replaced with a four-bedroom house with an open-concept kitchen and dining area.

Then, a second home with four bedrooms, including a master with an ensuite, would be constructed on the sizable piece of land.

There would be three designated parking places for each home, as well as front and rear gardens on both sites.

Cutting down the overgrown area and removing the garage and a flimsy lean-to have already started.

Monmouthshire County Council granted the request for a permit last month.

A terrific opportunity to purchase two construction plots with full planning approval to construct two detached luxury houses in one of Chepstow’s most prominent neighbourhoods, according to real estate consultants Hills Property Consultants.

The Historic Town of Chepstow is consistently well-liked and now has one of South Wales’s top five highest property prices.
