The Orlando Pirates players are certain that they can stop the Mamelodi Sundowns locomotive.
This weekend, Pirates hope to send Sundowns to their continental commitments with a defeat.
Earlier this season, Orlando Pirates defeated Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals of the MTN 8 competition.
This victory has given them confidence that they can defeat the PSL’s top teams.
Tapelo Xoki, who should start in the middle of the Orlando Pirates’ defense, believes that his team has all the necessary components for victory.
“We have the team that can defeat Sundowns; we’ve demonstrated this before.” According to TIMES LIVE, Xoki stated, “We just need to apply ourselves correctly and make sure we do the right things at the right time.”
They have scored the most goals in the league (38) and conceded the fewest goals (7), therefore they are a balanced squad that has no flaws but is still beatable.
Xoki claims that the Pirates have no intention of avenging their previous PSL loss to Sundowns.
Instead, he believes that the group’s focus is on improvement.
“Yes, they defeated us last time, but vengeance is not on our minds,” Xoki said.
“We cannot engage in such a game [of revenge]. Now that we’re in terrific form, we want to continue that trend without thinking about our prior games against them.”
Xoki believes that the Sundowns match is crucial for Orlando Pirates, who have aspirations of playing on the continent next season.

It’s a life or death situation. “We must devote all of our energy to this game,” Xoki stated.
