Operation Dudula may expel illegal immigrant children from schools

The Foundation for Education and Social Justice Africa has demanded that police protect the children of illegal immigrants in response to rumors that Operation Dudula intends to remove them from their schools.

When it comes to learner placement in schools, a number of parents, particularly in Gauteng, have claimed that children of illegal immigrants are given priority over South African-born children. It is also unclear if the texts spreading date back to early in January.

Operation Dudula, an anti-illegal immigration organisation, has been hard at work recently removing illegal immigrants from local clinics in Gauteng and executing narcotics raids in hotspot areas.

The Foundation stated that its request was prompted by a message from Operation Dudula, which tries to remove children of illegal immigrants from school.

Hendrick Makaneta, a spokeswoman for the Foundation, stated that they feel Operation Dudula should aim its anger toward the Department of Basic Education and leave innocent students to study in peace.

Makaneta stated that the South African government must ensure that everyone inside its boundaries has access to basic education. This obligation is guaranteed under section 29 of the 1996 Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.

EFF and Operation Dudula engage in combat outside Kalafong Hospital.

“By forcibly removing students from classrooms, members of Operation Dudula will violate the law. Therefore, we implore the government to leave no stone unturned in bringing to justice those who engage in criminal operations to deny learners the opportunity to build a future for themselves.

Operation Dudula must be reminded that South Africa is a beacon of hope for millions of Africans throughout the continent.

In addition, Makaneta stated that poverty, unemployment, and inequality are common foes, and he urged Operation Dudula to redirect their efforts to combating these three difficulties, rather than attacking innocent children.

“The students who are the children of illegal immigrants may assist us in the future as a nation. Now is the time to care for them,” he added.
