A woke news reporter for The Guardian’s US website who claimed that those who challenge trans ideology are Nazis on Twitter has been chastised.

The most important political division in the future, in my opinion, will be between fascists and anti-fascists. Julia Carrie Wong tweeted on Sunday, “It’s vitally crucial to understand that transphobia is one of the most potent entry points to fascism today – and act appropriately.”

Twitter users soon criticized Wong for her dull woke take, asking why a news reporter would impose her ideas on her 59,300 followers while destroying any appearance of neutrality.

The political left plays a fairly straightforward game.

Declare that there are only two groups: fascists and opponents of fascism. Step 2: Accuse everybody who doesn’t agree with you of being a fascist.

The game is that. Wokal Distance, an anti-woke account, tweeted, “Stop falling for it.”

Wong, a graduate of the University of Iowa and Harvard, is a senior reporter for The Guardian stationed in San Francisco.

Prior to switching to an editorial position last year, she was one of the outlet’s primary technology reporters.

She now resides in Brooklyn and commissions content for the website.

The US newsroom of The Guardian is one of the American media outlets whose journalists have determined that they can no longer keep the public in the dark about their views on contentious social issues including racism, gender identity, and policing.

Their opinions are most frequently shared on Twitter, where they frequently receive retweets from other writers with similar viewpoints.

This, according to detractors, creates an echo chamber that isolates them from regular readers.

This practice has also drawn criticism from readers, many of whom just want all the information on a story, including opinions from relevant parties, before being left to come to their own conclusions.

Wong posted the message while going on a Twitter tirade about transphobia.

Her prior post began: “Hard to convey how terribly unsettling it is to watch the UK media status quo of transphobia being an acceptable hate permeate into the American press.” She then added:

I don’t have many victories to point to when it comes to battling this at a magazine, but I will say that I believe it’s crucial to do so.

The once-respected liberal journal’s staff have recently disagreed over trans rights. The publication was founded in England in 1821.

The Guardian was one of the media outlets that embarrassed itself last year by publishing a story alleging that a trans woman flashing her penis in a women’s-only area of a LA spa was the victim of a right-wing hoax concocted to incite transphobia.

Charges were brought against the purported flasher two months later.

Additionally, in 2020, feminist employees distributed a letter criticizing managers for having the audacity to print articles by British columnist Suzanne Moore that were gender-critical and afterwards left the publication.

Hadley Freeman, an additional American Guardian columnist living in London, has received savage abuse for her views on gender equality in both her Guardian columns and on Twitter.

Wong’s viewpoint and the alleged connection between transphobia and fascism appeared to be fundamentally rejected by a large number of Twitter users.

“You’re a moron. Transphobia is being caused by trans activism. What do you think the reaction will be when trans activists physically attack women who are assembling peacefully, or gay people at Pride, or try to inspire people to send pipe bombs to women who stand up for women? one user wrote.

Another responded, echoing Wong’s original tweet, “I think we’re entering a moment where the most relevant political distinction will be Guardian columnists and actual journalism.”

So you’re telling me that I may wear a dress and hang out in the women’s restrooms as a man and that everyone who opposes is a fascist? Another savvy Twitter user added, “Ok then.

The main points of contention in the contemporary transgender rights discussion are whether transgender women should have access to all women’s areas and whether transgender children should receive medical care before they turn 18.

Some so-called “gender-critical” activists, like J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, have warned that it might not be safe to admit trans women to women-only detention facilities or domestic abuse shelters.

However, proponents of trans rights assert that because transgender persons are among the most at risk for assault, they should be protected.

Women’s sports participation is another hot topic, with the gender-critical movement being sparked by the contentious trans UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas.

Thomas, a former University of Pennsylvania student who underwent gender transition, drew international uproar and cries of unfairness when she entered the pool and crushed rivals in a series of college-level races while setting records.

After stating that athletes who experience male puberty typically enjoy significant physical advantages over competitors who experience female puberty, even after hormone treatment, the international competitive swimming organization FINA has since introduced much harsher rules on allowing trans women to compete in the sport.
