Olivia Colman prank-called Paul Rudd on BBC Radio

It is lovely to learn that Paul Rudd and Olivia Colman have been friends for more than 20 years since they must be two of the most endearing, delightful individuals in the entertainment industry. They like playing practical jokes on one another as a consequence of their wonderful relationship, and Colman just got Rudd fairly good during his press trip for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The Crown actress Elizabeth Rudd called BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast with Greg James on purpose during a section when listeners called in to beg Rudd to help them with their troubles. Rudd was a guest on the program.

“So, what would you do if you had a very, really close buddy, like for over 20 years, and this guy, he doesn’t reside in England, but he’s come to England, and he hasn’t informed you about it?” Colman phoned in during the episode dubbed “Agony Ant-Man.” Then, in addition to not telling you about it, he appeared on a radio program. How would you respond? Would that offend you?

Ah, oh God. The Ant-Man 3 actor responded, “Oh no,” smiling. Colman was masking her voice, but Rudd knew right once that he was being duped. Frankly, I would never do that if it were me. He joked, still not knowing who the caller was, “I prefer to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

Rudd complimented Colman’s performance when she revealed who she was, saying, “God, you really can do any accent!”

Colman added that the two had performed in a play together in London many years before, and Paul would sometimes drop by Olivia’s flat when he was a resident there. Colman claims that when she learned Rudd would be a guest on the radio program, she sent host Greg James an email to ask whether she might tease her buddy. James replied, “Hell yes!” to Colman’s response.
