Olakunle Williams, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of integrated energy conglomerate Tetracore Energy Group, has confirmed his attendance and participation at AEW 2022

African Energy Week (AEW) 2022, Africa’s premier investment platform for the oil and gas sector, will be held from October 18–21 in Cape Town. Olakunle Williams, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of integrated energy conglomerate Tetracore Energy Group, has confirmed his attendance and participation.

Williams will lead conversations at AEW 2022 about the use of natural gas in Africa, sharing knowledge about gas-to-power and eradicating energy poverty by 2030.

Tetracore is a gas market player in Nigeria that offers energy solutions. Williams’ participation and presence at Africa’s premier event for the hydrocarbons sector will be crucial for influencing the conversation about how Nigeria and Africa as a whole can unlock industrialization and achieve energy security through the development and utilization of natural gas.

This is in line with the government’s strategy to optimize natural gas production and exploitation to address domestic energy demand.

Companies like Tetracore Energy are at the centre of the nation’s Decade of Gas initiative, through which these projects are being implemented, with the Nigerian government targeting the development, expansion, and exploitation of infrastructure including gas-to-power plants, gas turbines, and pipelines like the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Natural Gas Pipeline and the Trans Sahara Gas Pipeline to maximize domestic gas distribution.

Tetracore is promoting Nigeria’s energy expansion through the application of cutting-edge gas and power supply solutions through its subsidiaries Nispo Gas, QSL Gas and Power, and Infini Power.

Under Williams’ direction, Tetracore Energy is successfully enhancing gas distribution in the southwest region of Lagos State while expanding the Edo, Ondo, and Delta Gas Distribution Zone in collaboration with the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC).

In order to ensure energy security and address environmental sustainability, Williams is also in charge of planned developments such as gas monetization and commercialization, gas-to-liquid, gas utilization, gas-to-power, and independent power projects.

Between 2012 and 2019, Williams served as legal counsel for NGMC and a legal adviser to the organization’s managing director.

The AEW 2022 discussions on how Nigeria and Africa can encourage gas financing and draw foreign direct investments to boost the market at a time when global energy transition-related policies are disrupting investments across the sector will be shaped by Williams’ background in business administration and his understanding of Nigerian oil and gas legal procedures and investment trends.

“I am personally thrilled to announce Mr. Williams’ participation.

He is an African business leader who has been instrumental in expanding the gas market by developing creative solutions for the midstream industry.

As stated by NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, “Tetracore’s success in funding and developing a massive gas distribution infrastructure project in Nigeria that will supply over 55 million standard cubic feet per day of gas in just 18 months is a strong testimony of the firm’s commitment to address critical issues, including lack of funding, infrastructure, and adequate energy to curb energy poverty and fuel economic growth (AEC).

Williams will discuss Tetracore Energy’s goals and expansion strategies at AEW 2022.

As gas exploitation and monetization grow, Tetracore Energy is planning a significant expansion across Africa.

The CEO will take part in panel discussions and high-level forums, promoting discussion about best practices to hasten the deployment and usage of gas infrastructure in order to establish Africa as a global hub for clean energy while eradicating energy poverty across the continent by 2030.
