NYPD says train subway surfers will be charged with trespassing and reckless endangerment

On Friday, a gang of subway surfers were caught on camera standing on top of a moving subway train in Brooklyn, New York.

According to Storyful, footage shows a group of at least eight people surfing on subway cars as the train crosses the Williamsburg Bridge in New York City.

The bunch of daredevils, dressed primarily in black, were observed darting between railway cars, some fast hopping between cars while others chose to sit along the edge between cars.

One of the thrill seekers appears to be dancing on the train as it travels from Manhattan’s Lower East Side to Brooklyn’s Williamsburg.

According to ABC 7 New York, a man was killed in 2021 after reportedly subway surfing on the same train.

In that instance, a 32-year-old man was apparently riding on top of the J-train as it approached the Williamsburg bridge when he lost his footing and fell to the tracks below. He was later hit by a train and died as a result.
