Noel Clarke DISCONTINUES his slander lawsuit against Bafta

Actor and producer Noel Clarke has dropped his legal action against Bafta, the academy has said.

It comes after he won the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema last year, before having his membership suspended ‘until further notice’ when 20 women made claims to The Guardian alleging sexual harassment and bullying.

Clarke denied all allegations and the Met decided against launching a criminal probe last month – concluding the accusations did not ‘meet the threshold’ for a police probe.

Noel Clarke, an actor and producer, has decided not to pursue legal action against Bafta, according to the academy.

We notice that Noel Clarke has withdrawn his legal action against Bafta, a representative for the organization stated in a statement.

“The severe wrongdoing described in first-hand accounts and revealed in The Guardian newspaper is against the standards expected of a Bafta member and the principles we support as an arts foundation and academy,” said a Bafta spokesperson.

‘We stand by our decision to suspend his honorary award and membership as soon as the detailed allegations came to light.’
