Nkosinathi Sibisi says it’s an “an honour and a privilege” to be able to call himself an Orlando Pirates player

Nkosinathi Sibisi describes being able to name oneself an Orlando Pirates player as “an honor and a pleasure.”

The Buccaneers signed the 26-year-old center defender before the 2022–23 DStv Premiership season began.

He had been a great player with Golden Arrows during the previous few years and had spent the previous seven years there.

Nkosinathi Sibisi commented on the club website: “It’s an honor and a privilege. It never occurred to me that it would. Without a doubt, it exceeds my highest expectations.

The player said, referring to the distinctions between the two clubs: “It is pretty different. For instance, we weren’t accustomed to traveling to camp during the preseason at Arrows. Additionally, there are additional off-field activities including picture sessions. I had to get used to the fact that it was rather different.

“I bring a competitive edge. I just want to compete and be the best I can be and hopefully help the team going forward.

“To the Bucs fans, I’d like to say they should expect something positive this season. We’re striving for silverware. Just be patient with us, with the coaches. We’ll try to do our best and hopefully it will be good enough to make them happy.”

The 2022/23 DStv Premiership season will begin for Orlando Pirates on Saturday, August 6, at home against Swallows FC in a Soweto derby.

The game is set to begin at 15:30.
