Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport in Benin City received five new projects

On Thursday, the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport in Benin City received five new projects, including a 20-room student officers’ residence donated by the Edo State Government, from the governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, and the chief of army staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya.

A 350-seat theater bearing President Muhammadu Buhari’s name, a female soldiers’ hostel with 64 beds, an RSM House with three completely furnished chambers, and a male soldiers’ hostel with 142 beds are some of the additional projects that were commissioned.

At the commissioning, Obaseki praised President Buhari for giving the military with the necessary leadership and a positive work environment, saying, “It’s not a coincidence that the President was once a commandant in the school of transport and supplies.”

“I am thrilled today about this very important event that marks the completion of finished projects here at the Nigeria Army School of Supply and Transport,” the governor said.

We were here to lay the groundwork for this building and other projects less than a year ago, particularly on August 24th 2021. It demonstrates the Chief of Army Staff’s level of leadership.

He is a project-executing officer. He is being urged by me to continue leading Nigeria at this time.

“The least we can do to support what the Army has done for us in the State is for us in Edo to provide our humble contribution of a 20-room hostel for officers’ lodging.”

“We begged the Chief of Army Staff about the issue on the Benin-Ehor section of the Benin-Auchi Road, begging for his assistance with a forward operating base around Ehor, and he approved it in less than a month he left,” the speaker stated. His forces were sent to the axis after receiving orders from him.

“Thanks to your help, Edo State is the safest in the South-South part of the nation, and we are delighted to state so. You are a fantastic leader who genuinely cares about both the retired and the active employees; you consistently go above and beyond for the people.

“As the Army requires space at Ekenhuan Barracks, we will cooperate with you and pledge to do more.

I’m negotiating with the Brigade Commander to move some of his soldiers from Oregbeni who have been living in abhorrent conditions there.

To provide more housing for your guys, we will work with the command to build, renovate, and repair some of the outdated hostel facilities at Ekenhuan Barracks.

The governor continued, “We are constructing a 13-kilometer expressway with street lighting to Ekenhuan Barracks.”

We are here to commission work and support what you stand for.

Nigeria faces security issues in each of its geopolitical regions, and because these challenges are complex in nature and need for more skilled professionals, what you are doing is exceptional.

“Only constant training and paying attention to you will help your men develop the abilities they need. That is one point of emphasis that we have taken away from you as a government.

The governor had previously received praise from the Army Chief of Army Staff for his ongoing assistance to the military, emphasizing in particular, “I especially thank Governor Obaseki for his support of the 20 rooms officers’ hostel.”
