In his autobiography “Spare,” Prince Harry asserts that the Queen once asked Meghan Markle her opinion on Donald Trump. Nigel Farage has refuted this claim.
A ‘pleasant’ encounter with the Queen in November 2016, just before the US election, is described in the Duke of Sussex’s book, copies of which and excerpts of which have been leaked ahead of the book’s scheduled January 10 release.
Harry claims that when the Queen asked Meghan for her opinion on Donald Trump, she instead broached the subject of Canada because she understood that politics is a losing proposition.
Nigel Farage, a former Ukip leader and close friend of Donald Trump, has now told MailOnline that he thinks the claim that the Queen wanted to talk to Meghan about the former US President was made up ‘almost certainly.
The other possibility, according to him, is that the Duchess of Sussex wrote it herself to advance her career.
‘Meghan wants a political career, so that story makes her look important,’ he told MailOnline.
Mr. Farage, however, thinks that Harry’s book may have put an end to her hopes of winning a high office.
He claimed that some of the information, particularly regarding his sex life and cocaine use, would be extremely damaging to his wife.
He continued, “He seems to support Class A drugs.”
