Nicole Scherzinger Sobs Over Dick Van Dyke’s ‘Masked Singer’ Reveal

The Season 9 premiere of The Masked Singer on Wednesday, February 15 brought judge Rosemarie Scherzinger to tears with the revelation of a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious participant.

The first contestant eliminated from the episode of the disguised celebrity singing competition was billed as “the most seasoned and decorated entertainer who has ever appeared on the show.” Billie Holiday’s “When You’re Smiling” was sung by a performer wearing a bizarre Gnome costume.

During the performance, a “captivated” Scherzinger exclaimed, “Your vocals and voice have completely melted my heart.” You put a grin on the face of the entire nation with that performance.”

When the judges guessed great celebrities such as Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro, it was eventually revealed that the guy behind the Gnome was the one and only Dick Van Dyke.

“It was quite dark inside. “Nothing was visible,” he joked. “I enjoyed that people mistook me for Robert De Niro. I was unaware that Robert De Niro could sing.

Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy were utterly smitten with the 97-year-old Mary Poppins icon. McCarthy remarked that she was “so blown away,” while Jeong told the actor, “You are one of the reasons I became interested in comedy. You are humorous.”

Scherzinger was unable to contain her emotions and began to sob.

“I adore you so much. We love you. “Everyone loves you so much,” she exclaimed. It is a privilege to have you on our show. I can’t believe you’re here, but I’m attempting to maintain composure. You look so stunning, you look so handsome.”

In response to the singer’s emotional response, Van Dyke later told Entertainment Weekly, “You know what’s great now? We are now in our third generation, and I still encounter young children who greet me with, “It’s Bert!” And I love that children are just now discovering these films. It’s wonderful to be in the third generation.”

Van Dyke ended up his appearance on the show by playing the legendary Mary Poppins song, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”

The Masked Singer airs at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesdays on FOX.
