According to a veteran investigator, the “rampant conjecture” surrounding Nicola Bulley’s disappearance will only be put to rest if people accept the post-mortem findings.

The 45-year-old disappeared on January 27 while out on a walk with her dog Willow in the Lancashire community of Saint Michael’s on the Wyre.

Despite police requests for them to stay away, armchair detectives and TikTok users have flocked to the town in an effort to get part in the investigation.

Most recently, while Lancashire Police are criticized by an ex-police officer for “not defining the media agenda,” a TikTok “detective” was observed looking about.

Peter Bleksley, a former Scotland Yard undercover investigator, has now said that the way the probe was conducted left a “vacuum of knowledge.”

He describes this as a “vacuum” that has been filled with rumors, chitchat, and “rampant conjecture,” which will only be put to rest if the post-mortem update is “believed.”

The Channel 4 actor from Hunted remarked, “Talking of the conspiracy theorists and the TikTokers and the like, if I may, they’re at it again,” in an interview with Sky News.

“Some are already posting overhead photos on social media sites and claiming that a van or a car might have parked nearby or here.

“Once again, the cops need to be aware that this is merely wild guesswork.

They must develop plans for what they will do going forward.

Let’s only hope that when there is a post-mortem, which there will undoubtedly be, that it will be, that information will be correctly communicated to the public, be believed, and be trusted, and that maybe, perhaps, just finally, this rampant speculating might cease, and not too soon.
