New England Patriots gift Massachusetts school’s first female touchdown scorer

After a Massachusetts high school student made history by being the first female player to ever score a touchdown, the New England Patriots gave her an autographed football and dubbed her “The Mighty Quinn.”

McKenzie Quinn, a senior at Brockton High, became the first girl to score a touchdown in the 125-year history of Brockton football on October 9 during the school’s game versus Dartmouth.

Her high school shared a photo of Quinn grinning with joy after the touchdown, surrounded by her jubilant male teammates, on Twitter.

The New England Patriots were alerted.

Interestingly, the football team celebrated the historic occasion by giving Quinn a football that had been autographed by the Patriots.

The owner, Robert Kraft, inscribed the following statement on the football: “To the Mighty Quinn, a pat on the back to you and those who helped to your historic touchdown!

We like seeing your joy in following your hobbies. continued achievement.

The message stated, “The Patriots are pulling for you!” and included the team’s motto, “We are all Patriots.”

In a tweet from her school, Quinn was shown grinning while clutching a package containing a signed football. The little player was ‘honored and surprised’ to receive the present, the school said.

Quinn had earlier expressed her ‘ecstasy’ and remarked that scoring the touchdown was fantastic.

Quinn told the Boston 25 News, “I rushed in and the team went wild and everyone is patting my helmet as I go back and I was delighted, it was just wonderful.”

She admitted to The Enterprise that the experience was likely “For-Life.” You don’t ever forget that. It’s something you never forget. The family here, in particular, simply makes everything ten times better.

Quinn’s score was “definitely one of the finest moments” in her football career, according to her teammate Joey Cappiello.

After lacrosse transitioned to a contactless sport, Quinn began participating in football at school.

She is among our team’s hardest workers, according to assistant coach Matthew Campbell.

Quinn isn’t simply a standout in football; she also has a 5.0 GPA and is at the top of her class of more than 800 pupils.

With her academic prowess, competitive nature, and athletic prowess, Campbell said, “I believe she could pretty much accomplish anything she wants and I think institutions will be running up to try and have her attend their school.”
