Kaizer Chiefs’ star player Wandile Duba becomes DStv Diski Challenge’s 2022 top scorer

Wandile Duba, a star player for Kaizer Chiefs, scored once more as his team defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 on Saturday in the DStv Diski Shield semifinals.

Mduduzi Shabalala scored the game’s first goal for Amakhosi, while Duba scored his team’s second goal in the second half.

Shabalala already has a first team contract, which was extended to him in June after a string of strong performances.

And while Duba continues to score goals for the Chiefs reserve team week in and week out, he is striving to follow in Shabalala’s footsteps.

Just last week, Duba scored twice to help Chiefs defeat SuperSport United 4-2 in the competition’s quarterfinals.

Now that Duba has scored three goals in this year’s Diski Shield, he is the competition’s top scorer. His most recent goal came against Sundowns.

Duba has scored eight goals in only three weekends after scoring five goals for Chiefs during the U18 Engen Knockout Challenge two weeks ago.

In the final, Kaizer Chiefs will meet Stellenbosch FC on Saturday, July 23 at Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.

The DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) champions, Stellenbosch, advanced to the final with a 1-0 victory over Chippa United.
