The terrible moment a parent steps back and observes as his youngster plays on a perilous railway track has been captured on camera by Network Rail.

The man can be seen standing beyond the line and talking on the phone while his little child crosses and plays on the railroad track in the unsettling video. The toddler is obviously unaware of the dangers.

The business published the CCTV footage at the level crossing at Chestnut Grove in Burton Joyce, Nottinghamshire, describing it as “worrying.”

In the dramatic episode, the little child runs off the route as his preoccupied father just looks up the track to see whether any trains are approaching.

The film opens with a group of young individuals darting off the walkway and onto the tracks. It then shows a series of terrible incidents in which members of the public gambled with their safety in recent months.

Other near misses can be seen in the film, such as a dog walker calmly crossing the street with his dog off-leash, something Network Rail strongly advises against.

An approaching train honks at the man to move aside before it can be seen speeding in his direction, avoiding the startled walker by by a few seconds.

Another parent is seen pushing a stroller while standing back in a more secure location as their youngster cycles across the walkway.

Another strange scene has a man quietly crossing the busy trains while toting a kayak.

The events have raised concerns for the safety of members of the public who are not aware of the risks of busy railroad lines, according to Network Train, which manages Britain’s rail infrastructure.

Following the events, Network Rail has seen an increase in careless behavior at the well-liked level crossing, so this Saturday the neighborhood is being asked to a safety seminar.

‘We’ve witnessed some really frightening behavior at Burton Joyce level crossing, which demonstrates just how naive some homeowners are of how hazardous the train can be,’ said Anna Ebblewhite, level crossing manager for Network Rail.

In order to increase community safety, we are offering this interactive workshop to people to assist them learn how to utilize the crossing safely.

Local councilman Mike Adams called it “frightening to observe” the “risks being taken today by some when crossing the train.”

In order to avoid losing the crossing completely, he cautioned the people to use care and educate themselves on the risks associated with crossing railroad lines.

Around 70 trains pass quickly across the sidewalk every day as it spans the Nottingham to Lincoln railway.

According to Network Rail, six fatalities occurred at level crossings in the 2019–2020 year, while 17 deaths involved trespassers on the railroad.
