Netra Venkatesh Receives Award in Memory of Princess Diana

The Diana Award was given to a young person from Dubai for going above and beyond in their daily lives to bring about and maintain positive change.

Netra Venkatesh is honored in Princess Diana’s memory.

Netra Venkatesh, a 15-year-old from Dubai, has received The Diana Award, the greatest honor a young person can win for civic engagement or humanitarian work.

The Award was created to honor Diana, Princess of Wales, and is sponsored by both of her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex.

It is given out by the charity of the same name.

Netra founded her organization “SpunkGo” in July 2020 with the goal of using social media for good.

It brings together more than 5,000 young girls from more than 20 countries and all walks of life on one platform.

Netra, a very driven young entrepreneur, is dedicated to educating and empowering females in Asia and Africa who live in developing nations.

She organizes free life skill webinars with motivational women speakers through her “SpunkGo” platform in order to educate girls all over the world.

These members, the majority of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds, have a wealth of opportunities for personal development since they have the chance to learn and network internationally.

According to Tessy Ojo CBE, CEO of The Diana Award, “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the latest Diana Award winners from the UK and throughout the globe who are leading change in their generation.

It is especially moving at this time, 25 years after Princess Diana passed away.

We are confident that by obtaining this honor, they will encourage other young people to become active members of their communities.”

What the nomination procedure entails

Adults who know the young people professionally and have observed their efforts as a good contribution to society have nominated the award recipients.

These nominees had to prove their influence in five categories through a rigorous nomination process: vision, social effect, inspiring others, youth leadership, and service journey.

Each region or country both in the UK and abroad is represented by one of the 20 Diana Award Judging Panels.

Three judges who recognize the importance of young people, including one representative of young people, make up panels.

The panels’ main objective is crucial: to choose which nominees from each country or region would be given a Diana Award.

The Criteria Guide and Scoring Guide, which were developed to assess the caliber of adolescent social activity, are used to evaluate nominations.
