The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, urged Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid al-Kabir to reflect on its significance.

In a message shared on Wednesday morning, Ribadu encouraged people not to merely focus on the festivities but to take a moment to contemplate while prayers are offered and warm greetings are exchanged.

Through his Twitter account, he emphasized the importance of reflecting on the essence of Eid al-Kabir alongside the celebrations.

Commitment to Nigerians as National Security Adviser

In his new role as the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu assured Nigerians that he would not disappoint them.

On his first day in office, which was Monday, June 26, Ribadu formally assumed the position, taking over from Maj Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd.).

Expressing his commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to him, Ribadu pledged to live up to the expectations of the Nigerian people.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for renewing hope in achieving a more secure nation.

Wearing Symbolic Gifts of Influence and Mentorship

On his first day as NSA, Nuhu Ribadu reflected on the weight of his public service and the impact of influential figures in his life.

To commemorate the significance of the moment, he chose to wear priceless gifts from individuals who played pivotal roles as mentors and icons.

He donned a babbar riga and shoes gifted by the late Dr. Mahmud Tukur, as well as a cap given to him by the late IGP Ibrahim Coomassie.

Ribadu acknowledged the lessons he learned from these extraordinary patriots and mentors, emphasizing that while our upbringing and experiences shape us, what sets us apart is our ability to put those lessons into practice.

Moving forward, Nuhu Ribadu is determined to carry the burden of public service and fulfill his responsibilities in the pursuit of a more secure nation.

He recognizes the influence of his upbringing and the guidance he received from esteemed individuals, and he aims to embody those lessons as he works diligently to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
