NANS PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO LAGOS TASKFORCE

The representatives of the Lagos State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce at his Office in Bolade, Oshodi, to commend him on the good work his team is doing to instill discipline and orderliness in the State. Welcoming the delegation to his office, the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye, expressed his delight at the visit and reiterated the willingness of his team to work with NANS in ensuring that the environment is safe and secure enough for all and sundry without hindrance from criminal elements.

In his words: “I appreciate your ingenuity and initiative in fostering harmony in our society. I will give you all the necessary support you need to succeed and ensure that all issues brought up are dealt with holistically. You are the leaders of tomorrow so it is only right for us to make sure that nothing impedes the process of attaining greatness for the Nigerian students”.

The Chairman urged the team to keep up the good work and shun any form of criminal activity, saying: “You have started out on a beautiful note and I urge you to carry on this way. Exhibit decency in everything you do because in life, you will either be remembered for the problem you caused or the problem you solved.

We will support you and guide you in your endeavours”. Earlier, the delegation led by the State Chairman, Comrade Olusesi Tolulope, highlighted some of the challenges students face with security agents around the State, appealing for synergy between the Association and the Taskforce to foster peace and security in the society.  He said: “Students in Lagos and Nigeria at large are facing communication breaches, harassment and misrepresentation from security agents. These are some of the reasons why we have come to appeal to you as a Father to foster a harmonious relationship between the students and security agents, particularly the Lagos State Taskforce, which is a frontline enforcer of Laws in the State”.
